FGBMF Vision & Mission - Our Regional Leaders’ Perspectives

< Previous, > Next

All great leaders possess two things: one, they know where they are going and two, they are able to persuade others to follow.

A good leader knows the way, goes the way and shows the way. He sees more than others see, sees further than others see and sees before others do. The very essence of leadership is to have a vision.

We asked our Regional Directors and Deputy Directors to share on the Vision and Mission.  These are some of their thoughts.

Q. What is your primary prayer for your region in relation to the FGBMF's Vision and Mission?

A. To pray for more Chapters (English, Chinese and Tamil) in the Northern region  especially in towns that are big enough to have a Chapter; for members to have a greater commitment in the Mission and be faithful in implementing it in our area; for God to use us to bring a spiritual revival; for kingly anointing to be released to FGBMF men to do the Mission; for greater co-operation with the local body of Christ and for god to protect us and our families from sickness and attacks of the evil ones.

Q. In carrying out the Mission, how would you encourage your members to have a deeper love for God, each other and the lost world?

A. Visit members, stir-up members to propagate fellowship meetings, promote evangelistic dinners and live out the Mission are some of the ways one can encourage members to have greater love for God, each other and the lost world.

Q. Tell us what God is doing in your Region through FGBMF Malaysia?

A. The 1st Asian Chinese Convention in August 2001 has sparked off the fire of revival in the Chinese community.  We see an emergence of 12 Chinese Chapters that are in the process of seeking affiliation with FGBMF.  We also see a group of young Chinese “Joshuas” who were fired up during the Convention and are demonstrating their enthusiastic faith in joining the road-shows around the country to sing and dance for Jesus.  Praise the Lord!

In addition, the Central Regional Board has organised monthly Pastors fellowship dinners to promote FGBMF Vision and Mission. Many churches pastors had been blessed through these gatherings and I believe God is doing a wonderful work through the FGBMF men who are not theologically trained but having the boldness of Holy Spirit and Word of God to step forward and reach men in the market place for Christ.

Q. In your region, what is God's guidance on how you should respond to Him to reach out masses of spiritually dead men to the Kingdom?

A. Men everywhere are trapped in the rat-race and conditioned to serve mammom, often quite unconsciously. The faith to believe that God indeed will supply ALL of our needs must be made real in our lives. Without faith we will continue to compromise, to rationalise and always to serve mammon and God at the very same time. We will have a form of godliness but lacking the power to live God-pleasing lives. Therefore, God’s guidance to me is to stroke the faith that is already in me and to help others to do the same.

Q. What can one do to encourage a member to be more than a mere spectator in the Mission?

A. The fellowship’s venue and the members’ gift in the fellowship should be recognized and appreciated. The member is then encouraged, and given sufficient liberty, to function in his position and to exercise his gift/s. The aim is for everyone to flow in the power of God’s leading under the anointing of the Holy Spirit in unity. God can use a member in a wonderful way either to evangelize or edify the body of Christ. He should be taught to be a giver to the fellowship and in return be blessed by God in the process.

Q. How would you describe the response of the people in your region to the gospel of Jesus Christ?

A. Easier and more open to the gospel especially after the Monthly Pastor meeting where churches and para-church organizations (FGBMF included) come together in unity. A bond has developed within to labour together for the Lord. Our region is badly hit by the  economic slowdown and our leaders need to be encouraged during this difficulty time to continue labour for the Lord.

Q. What does God want you to do in response to FGBMF’s Mission and what adjustments do you have to make?

A. We must be reminded constantly of God’s calling to us. In this manner, we avoid the pitfall of doing things that are not of God’s intention. All members must be familiar with the Vision and Mission and APC meetings are good occasions for such reinforcement. We must make personal adjustments to carry out the Mission and to stay faithful. The approaches to achieve the objectives may change from time to time. The means are dynamic and members must be prepared to experiment as the Lord leads. After all, all fishermen try different styles of catching depending on the season, place and type of fishes they are targeting.

Q. From your FGBMF experience, what are the main critical success factors in calling men back to God?

A. From my FGBMF experience, critical success factors to call men back to God include our unity in one spirit and love for one another, a genuine desire to share the Gospel, unity with the Body of Christ in reaching men and lastly, perseverance.

Q. In what areas and how we can sufficiently train and equip our members to fulfill the Great Commission ?

A. To train and equip our members to be humble, to have love and compassion for the lost and let the Holy Spirit anoints and equips us with power and authority to overcome the works of the enemy. Let FGBMF men be used to preach the gospel to the poor, to heal the broken hearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives  and recovery of sight to the blind and to set at liberty those who are oppressed.

Q. How and in what area is FGBMF to help believers to be baptised in the Holy Spirit and to grow spiritually ?

A. Once believers come into FGBMF fellowship, we ought to emphasise and explain the need for the baptism of the Holy Spirit. In addition, to have regular fellowship and support one another in the strength of the Lord and through Him to help us to grow spiritually.
