After 22 years of the FGBMF ministry
in the marketplace in Malaysia, the National
Board desires that all serving should possess a fresh anointing of
the Holy Spirit to achieve the Vision and
Mission of the FGBMF during
the first millennium decade. Hence, this year's theme is ANOINTED
TO SERVE. The Men's Camp in March 2002 will focus mainly on issues
that are "Back to Basics" and the speakers will touch on the
various aspects of anointing. To further the theme, this National
Board has approved the series of lectures by Rev. Gerald Bradley who
will go to all the regions and hopefully members will take the
opportunity to be trained so that they will have what it takes to
serve in the FGB ministry with the anointing.
The National Board would like to
highlight the following from the book, "Anointed for
Business" by Ed Silvoso:
| 1. |
As ordinary (lay) people in the
marketplace, to be anointed to serve is to be set aside by God to
minister there in the fullness of the Holy Spirit in order to take
the gospel to every person by using our jobs or businesses as the
main ministry vehicle. |
| 2. |
Looking at the early
Christians, they took the gospel with them wherever they went and
introduced it to those who were attracted towards it within their
occupation. Most of them remained in full-time business while, at
the same time, conducted full-time ministry. This was possible
because they saw the marketplace as their community and their
business as a platform. To them witnessing was not an activity but
a part of everyday life. |
| 3. |
The witnessing groups were led
not by men notorious for their religious beliefs but by people
known for their place in the marketplace. Likewise, we can be that
group of people and be used and anointed to lead in His service. |
| 4. |
Most Christian leaders today
have very little interaction with unbelievers, even less so with
prominent ones. Let's us be the ones in the marketplace to
interact with them. |
The reason for desiring that
anointing is that FGBMF Malaysia can be more effective to carry out
the Great Commission and practise the Great Commandment in line with
the Vision and Mission statements of the FGBMF in where our men
operate in their businesses.
The National Board would also like to
stress the life-style to achieve the anointing. For an anointing to
take place, God must be ever present in the FGBMF men's life and in
whatever they do. FGBMF men should emulate Moses in Exodus
33:15 & 16 "Then Moses said to Him (Lord), if
your presence does not go with us, do not sent us up from here. How
will anyone know that you are pleased with me and your people unless
you go with us? What else will distinguish me and your people from all
the other people on the face of the earth?"
Further, Proverbs
11:30 reminds us, "The fruit of the righteous is a
tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise." To be righteous
simply means to be right with God and FGBMF men can be right with God
if they know the Word and live by them. A life of holiness is what
FGBMF men should attain. We are also reminded that "to obey is
better than sacrifice" (1
Samuel 15:22). Hence, the National Board would urge all
FGBMF men to obey the Word of God and be a testimony for Him in the
markeplace with the anointing to serve.
Some views of the theme:
| 1. |
Dr Peter Tong, The National President
"In the early years of the
FGBMF ministry, we had to depend on the anointing of the Holy
Spirit to start and move and we saw many miracles and healings. My
desire is that this anointing will still be with us after 22 years
in the ministry." |
| 2. |
Dr Stephen Goh, The National Secretary
"The theme is what we need to
move on in the Ministry for without the anointing of the Holy
Spirit all our efforts at evangelising may be that harder. The
anointing is the cutting-edge of this ministry in the
marketplace." |
| 3. |
Bro
Lee Gee Koon, The National Treasurer
"Let us examine our lives and
tarry before the Lord till we receive fresh anointing. Then we
will be effective as witnesses in the marketplace." |
