National Treasurer Bro. Lee Gee Koon led a Malaysian delegation comprising Bro Tan Tek Seng, Wong Hong Meng and Ang Poon Khim attended the FGBMFI Philippines National Convention on 10- 12 April.

It was not surprising that their theme was "MOVE ON" and we sensed a certain cohesiveness in the fellowship throughout Asia. Bro Hugo Chan was one the speakers. It was a time of brotherly love and unity in the spirit which is indeed needed to help us to move on in one spirit to fulfill the vision and mission of the fellowship.

Bro Dennis Tan (Philippines National President) who attended the Second Asian Chinese Convention, reported with tears of joy to the brothers there of the great revival in the FGBMF movement that he had witnessed.

The purpose of the visit to the Philippine Convention was for a time of fellowship, encouragement and networking with all our brothers in Asia. The brothers received warmth fellowship and hospitality from the gracious host, the Philippine FGBMFI.

An inspiring prophetic message to the FGBMFI members was received: that the Lord has given the FGBMFI brothers a special ministry in the marketplace, that this is the mandate which we need to receive and to hold with conviction in our hearts so that the lost in the marketplace be saved. The work will be difficult and there will be resistance and hindrance from the adversaries. Therefore unity in the Spirit is of paramount importance as also His grace, strength and the power of the Holy Spirit.

To God Be The Glory.

Arising from the Asian Council initiative, an airlift comprising Bro Lee Gee Koon, Bro James Kui and Bro Ong Tatt Poh together with Bro Khoo Oon Theam (Singapore) and Bro Johnny Ong and Gilbert Hoosang (both from Hong Kong) visited Yangon, Myanmar on 3 May.

Each contributed US$200 to the funds for the banquet and related expenditure besides paying for their own airfares. The funds covered the eight-table banquet and room accommodation including meals for pastors and potential leaders.

The purpose of the visit was to identify potential local leadership to re-establish the FGBMFI work. Not too long ago there were 19 chapters in Yangon but all had since ceased operations. The objective of the trip was fulfilled as they met the local church pastors and leaders. Our brothers were well received and they imparted and blessed the Myanmar brothers with the contagious power of the Holy Spirit.

It was divine timing as we could meet up with pastors from the Pentecostal, Methodist and the Baptist groups. A banquet was held and about 70 people attended including pastors and members from these churches and business people.

Bro Khoo shared the vision of the FGBMFI and the brothers shared their personal testimonies on the love of Jesus that had transformed their lives. Members of the different church congregations were ministered to by the power of Holy Spirit and two came forward to renew their relationship with Jesus.

The brothers attended a church service the next day. Bro Khoo and Bro James Kui preached at two separate church services. All the brothers again shared their testimonies on how the Lord has touched their lives. The church pastors were encouraged with the special call to minister in the marketplace and agreed to release their men to partner the FGBMFI to bring men back to God.

What thrilled Bro Oon Theam most was the feedback from those who were there in 1987 when four Singaporeans went on their first mission outreach. They told him: "Bro Khoo, you spoke boldly and bound the spirit of socialism. The socialist government collapsed a few months later. Now you speak on the liberty in the Holy Spirit and we believe we will experience deliverance soon. The release of Aung San Suu Kyi is a good sign."

A follow-up visit to provide training and teaching materials for working with all the different groups of business people from different denominations, Men's Camp/Seminar and an evening for outreach and a banquet have been planned for September. We are expecting a bigger airlift as the opportunity is ripe unto harvest and the support from the churches is very positive. All Glory to God.

Airlift to Myanmar
5 to 9 September 2002
Be part of a team from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong and Taiwan to conduct a series of evangelistic banquets, training and fellowship meetings in Yangon. This is an excellent opportunity to impact the men of Myanmar and to see the start of a fresh move of God. Costs are being worked out but are expected to be less than RM2,000. Those interested please contact the National Office.

At the request of members, please note that FGBMFI Singapore do not hold weekly meetings but rather luncheon meetings on every first Friday of each month at No. 51 Sizzling Rock Restaurant and the last Friday of each month at YMCA Orchard Road. Both meetings start at 12.30 pm and end about 1.45-2.00 pm.

However, there is an Outreach Dinner on 25 June, 7.30 pm at Le Meridien Singapore with David and Jay Chong sharing their personal testimonies of reconciliation between a man and woman, God's way. Please call Bro Sunny Teo at 02-6223 4529 for more details.

FGBMFI Hong Kong will be the organiser of the 21st Asian Convention and at the same time celebrate its 50 years Golden Jubilee. It will be held in Hong Kong on 15 - 18 August with Servant Leadership in the Marketplace as the theme. The speakers are Khoo Oon Theam, Tony Tseng, Custodio R Pires and Rich Marshall.

The National Office is mobilising a group to represent Malaysia. The 5-days/4-nights trip, including an evangelistic dinner and a night stay in Shenzen is estimated to cost about RM2,200. Those interested please contact National Office for more details.
