At the Central
Region AMC, on Saturday 12 October at Menara TA One, KL, 141
members were blessed with a powerful challenge from Dr Chew Weng Chee
(former president of Kota Kinabalu Chapter, now the pastor of SIB ,
Kuala Lumpur). Quoting from 1 Samuel 22:1-2
and 1 Chronicles 11 and 12 he highlighted
the five characteristics which transformed a bunch of desperate,
distressed and discontented men into King David's mighty men who were
then able to capture and turn the city of Jebuz into the City of
David; a city which they could not make part of God's promised land
from the time of Joshua. Dr Chew saw FGBMF men as a mighty army of God
for the end-time harvests taking our towns and cities for the Lord. We
are to be:
| 1. |
Able (1
Chron 12:1-2) - be skillful in handling the Word of God, counseling
other men and sharing testimonies. |
| 2. |
Available (1
Chron 12:23,38) - be willing and available for the work to be done.
God's church is built on volunteerism and we are to be happy doing what
God wants us to do. |
| 3. |
Committed, loyal and
focused (1 Chron 11:15) not to a person or
persons but to God and be a people "fully determined". |
| 4. |
Disciplined (Joel
2:7) to serve in the ranks and march in line that titles and
positions are unimportant but the work is. |
| 5. |
United (1
Chron 11:4-9) - be all united to our vision and mission even though
each one of us has our own capabilities and achievements. We can then
capture Jebuz for the Lord. |
