Praise the Lord for the more than 20 salvations on 30th December. Our
Singapore brothers decided to end the year with a bang by having a
banquet for about 450 at the Le Meridien. Fifty of us went in support;
including our National President and Treasurer. Testimonies from
Singapore, Taiwan and Malaysia were shared before and after the Happy
Men dance and Hugo Chan from Hong Kong gave the altar call for the
harvest to be brought in. Our David Chin was invited to sing to the
Lord and he blessed the audience with two lovely songs. What an
evening! A banquet intended to be a local Singapore affair turned out
to be quite international. We from Malaysia were so blessed that we
(have) promised our Singapore brothers that if they had a banquet at
least every quarter we would support it with a team of at least thirty
brothers.
Making use of every available
opportunity, the Asian Council convened its fourth meeting for the
year. The progress of the Fellowship in Asia was reviewed and fresh
plans made for 2003, including the following:
| • |
All
national FGBMF will implement a mentoring programme to ensure
well-trained, spiritually matured leadership for the continuing
growth of the fellowship. |
| • |
The
Global Chinese Convention was confirmed for 2nd to 4th October
2003 in Taipei. For the non- Mandarin speakers, there would be
instantaneous translation into English and Bahasa Indonesia. |
| • |
Singapore
will host the 2003 Asian Convention (main language will be
English) from 8th to 10th August 2003. |
| • |
Our
work in Myanmar will continue with another 4 visits. |
| • |
An
exploratory trip will be made to Vietnam and Cambodia. |
| • |
The
thrust into China will see the doubling of chapters and the
setting up of a China Council with representatives from all
participating countries. |
| • |
Taiwan,
Hong Kong and Malaysia were specifically assigned to help
initiate Chinese speaking work in the other countries, including
Indonesia, Philippines, New Zealand and Australia. |
The Lord will continue to bless this
ministry as we move out in obedience to be His witnesses in the
marketplace.
