 This compendium of quotable
quotes is the brainchild of Bro. Sim York Soo, the Editor of VOICE
and FLAME.
It was drawn from all sources
whether they were from books he had read or from the newspapers.
This updated version of more than 6,000 sayings had been diligently
compiled over the years. The ensuing result is as delightful as it
is useful to all who wish that the many expressions are what they
have in mind but have not been expressed by those who have found
their sayings in this excellent handbook.
I appreciate Bro. Sim's efforts
at this systematic rendering of quotations which neatly come across
the thoughts which we ourselves would like to put across as ours in
the first place but just to use the quotes therein would have saved
hours of time in such conception. I welcome Bro Sim's contribution
in this area and would treasure this volume as I refer to the book
from time to time in my efforts at evangelism through the ministry
of the FGBMF. We have the benefit of his feeder in the FLAME which
he fills up where space allows to provoke thoughts. To have a
glimpse of his whole armoury of quotations, this revised (2nd)
edition would be a welcome addition to my sources of reference. I
note that there are not only statements from world and national
leaders that are relevant but the Word of God has found prominence
through the sayings that are quoted which I can identify with and
which I can use without sounding like a sycophant (flatterer) as
these have been written as they have been said by those with better
experience and influence than ourselves.
