The late Mr Chew Kam PokThe late Uncle Chew Kam Pok went to be with the Lord on 6 January 2003. He fought a good fight, finished the race, kept the faith and left behind a legacy especially his faithfulness to our God. In memory of our beloved brother, we append below the following tributes:

Dr Abraham (Peter) Tong, National President:
We shall always remember Brother Chew Kam Pok, who at the grand old age of 75, had made a tremendous impact in the market place with his dynamic testimony in every FGBMF banquet where many people were saved after hearing how God raised him from the dead! During those moments when his soul left his body because of a severe heart attack, he was taken to have a glance of hell and later to Heaven! His testimony was all the more remarkable as he had always served God as a Church Elder, was the first Malaysian Director - General of Telekom, and his two sons are well-known medical specialists in the country. As "The man who came back from the dead after visiting Heaven and hell" he became one of our most respected and sought-after market place evangelist and was very effective in presenting the Gospel and persuading sinners to repent.

I came to know Brother Chew and his family in 1954 in Muar as their neighbour and always enjoyed the Gospel songs they sang in their weekly house service. Little did I realize that one day we would be serving the Lord together in the market place through FGBMF.

On behalf of the FGBMF, we want to pay our tribute to a very faithful warrior of the Lord and thank the Lord for his marvelous and unique testimony that has touched so many lives.

Liew Hoi Foo, Past President of Shah Alam Chapter:
"A simple, humble, faithful and prayerful brother, whose life had impacted my life and helped me grow in the Lord. Whenever I talk with him, I always have the peace and comfort that I was always welcomed."

Elder Ang Chui Lai, Founder Member, FGBMF Malaysia:
I shall never forget the unique experience the late Mr Chew Kam Pok shared with me 15 years ago which became the hallmark of my close relationship with him. It was during the time when he was hospitalised and in a coma that I visited him, with his loved ones at his bedside. In my fervent prayer for him, I was led by the Spirit to confess audibly on his behalf, "I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the Lord." (Ps 118:19)

After his recovery, he related to me that during the time he was in coma, he did recognise my voice although he could not communicate with me. In the meantime, the Lord took him to heaven and there he saw the wonder and glory of the throne of God surrounded by a rainbow, with a multitude of the redeemed ones in joyous praise and worship of the King of Kings. Then the Lord said to him that it was not time for him to leave the earth as God had work for him to do. Before his spirit returned to earth, he was given a glimpse of hell - the horror of it accompanied by screams of the tormented one therein. He could recognise some of his friends who had passed away without receiving Christ, bitterly lamenting in the burning heat of hell. This vision had such an impact on him that since his recovery, he became a fruitful winner of souls and mightily used by God in the ministry of the FGBMF. Hundreds had been won into the Kingdom of God in response to the altar calls made by our late brother in many of the banquets.

I was privileged to be present at his bedside together with his loved ones including his beloved wife, his two sons Dr Chew Weng Yew and Dr Chew Weng Chee when he passed away into the dear arms of our Lord Jesus Christ. Though in coma, his face shone brightly and as he breathed his last. I was filled with comfort as I committed him to the Lord in prayer with these words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant. Thou has been faithful over the few things, I will make thou ruler over many things. Enter thou into the joy of the Lord." (Mark 25:21)
