Visiting Penang By Faith
By Dr Abraham Peter Tong, National President

< Previous, > Next

We have heard so much about the three revived chapters in Penang that we decided to pay them a visit from 11th to 17th August 2003. Since the Lord has healed me and wants me to walk by faith and not by sight, I accepted Bro Edmund Chan's invitation to visit Penang after an absence of three years. The visit gave me an opportunity to thank all the brothers for praying for my recovery, and to share my testimony and give God all the glory. Everyone present was given a set of God's Medicine which had helped me to achieve a breakthrough in my present recovery.

Here's my report:

1.

FGBMF Georgetown Chapter
Under the anointed leadership of Bro Eddie Ng this chapter has grown to be very active with an average attendance of between 30 - 40 people. They meet in a very spacious home and there is always an atmosphere of revival and fellowship. On that particular day, there were still people sharing until 4.30 pm! This is mainly a men's chapter.

2.

FGBMF Butterworth Chapter
A newly formed chapter under the anointed leadership of Bro Goh Wooi Beng, meets at Safira Club. Again, the Spirit was moving with very good worship. There was a mixed group of men and women. The committee is planning to start a Chinese Chapter soon! Praise the Lord!

3.

FGBMF Harbour Trade Chapter
Under the anointed leadership of Bro Stanley Har - this chapter meets in the "black hole" of Penang where there are many temples, gangsters, drug addicts, prostitutes and homosexuals. This is the only FGBMF chapter in the whole country with a 7-piece band! About 30 men and women were there and many came forward at the altar call for prayer. Truly this is a Gospel Light House! To God be the glory.

The Lord has truly anointed Bro Edmund Chan and the various leaders to revive the FGBMF work in Penang. We are thankful to the Lord for their commitment and zeal in serving the Lord.
