Chapter Watch - PJ Subang Jaya Chapter
By Sebastian Koren

< Previous, > Next

The Subang Jaya chapter was officially launched in 1993. It all started when faithful brothers like Bro. James Kui, Bro Thinakaran, Bro Paul M. and Bro. Gopal Krishnan went on their knees praying unceasingly and brought together a group of Christians to meet regularly under the FGBMF banner.

Bro. James Kui was the first Chapter President and two years later, he was appointed a Field Representative, and that paved the way for Bro. David Tey (1994), and subsequently Bro Charlie Yeo (1995), to be elected as President of the chapter. Under the leadership of the latter (7 years), the fellowship grew to what it is today.

Currently, Bro James Kui is a Regional Coordinator while Bro. Charlie Yeo a Field Rep. The 2003 committee consists of Bro Sebastian F. Koren as President and assisted by Bro. Xavier John Anniah, Bro. Philip Koay, Bro. Peter Yeoh, Bros. A.Solomon, Michael Teh, Paul Woo, Christopher Koh, Edwin Tang, K.M. Wong, Kopathy and Wilson Thasiah.

Today, the chapter continues to meet each Friday at 1pm at No. 53, Jalan SS15/4, Subang Jaya. The weekly turnout is between 15 to 20 members and friends. Most of the invited speakers are lay people whose testimonies are meant to touch and enrich the members' lives. Occasionally, a full-time minister (local and overseas) is invited to testify as well as to preach.

Every Wednesday from 12.45 pm, 2 or 3 members would meet to pray for the nation, the leadership of the FGBMF, their members and personal needs.

Meal Fellowship

As the theme for this year is 'Salt and Light in the Market Place' an invitation card to the weekly lunch fellowship for three Chapters in the vicinity namely: Sunway Chapter, Taipan Chapter and Subang Chapter, is being circulated to students and office workers in the area. We pray for a rich harvest in the near future.

On every last Monday of the month, a combined prayer meeting cum fellowship meal is held for FGBMF Central Group 9 chapters (Group 8 by invitation) at the same venue. An average of 20 members gather for corporate prayers. The presence of the Holy Spirit is strongly felt and there is a tremendous blessing to all those who have attended and experienced each meeting.

Bro. Charlie Yeo (on guitar) has teamed up with Bro. Samuel, from the Shah Alam chapter, (on keyboard) to visit the various chapters in the Klang Valley with a mission and vision to enhance the quality of worship therein. The chapter is proud of the pair and fully uphold them through continual prayer support.

We have plans and seeking the Lord to lead us to conduct bi-monthly house fellowship in order to bring about a greater unity among the families of the FGB brothers and possibly to invite Bro Charlie Yeo to organise a course on "How to conduct an orderly worship".

Praise the Lord!
