The saints that worship the Lord Jesus Christ on Fridays at the KL Bangsar Baru & PJ Section 8 FGBMF Chapters, recently revisited Kuala Kangsar, Perak, with a view to be continually used by the Lord.

By way of a short background (for those reading this article for the first time), the Christian Community in Kuala Kangsar had been granted a piece of land (about 1.4.acres) by the Local Authority "to bury" their dead. An association was thus set up by a few members of the local Church leaders to undertake the task of developing the land and making it usable to bury the dead. However the Association (Christian Cemetary Association, Kuala Kangsar) was unable to utilize the land for the purpose it was granted, because there were insufficient funds to develop the land for the purpose intended. To add salt to injury, we were told that the Hindu, Buddhist and the Muslim burial grounds have been fully developed and the people have begun to bury their dead for quite a while.

In contrast, the Christians in Kuala Kangsar could not even build an access road to reach their burial ground. The only access to the ground was through the Hindu burial ground! What a shame and a bad testimony! This bad testimony (we believe) is the result of the sins of "hoarding" the wealth that the Lord has blessed us. After realising, the KL Bangsar & PJ Section 8 Chapters repented of their sins of hoarding wealth and proceeded to undertake a step of faith to challenge the Christian community in Kuala Kangsar, Perak, to raise funds for the development of this burial land. The challenge was timely as the Association President, Bro. Mah Fei Chew is also a proactive man and was willing to take up the challenge.

So one thing led to another and the Christians of Kuala Kangsar were challenged that for every ringgit they raised for the Association, the FGBMF brethrens will match with a similar sum up to a maximum of RM30,000.00.

Towards this end, the challenge witnessed the getting together of 17 churches of diverse denominations working together to organize a Thanksgiving Dinner on the 15th November 2003. The function was held at the premises of the St. Patrick Catholic Hall, Kuala Kangsar, and was well-attended by more than 500 people! (a big event by Kuala Kangsar standards). The honour to share the Words of the Lord Jesus Christ for the evening was given to our Northern Region Director, Bro. Loh Poh Seng.

We wish to report that the total sum raised by the Association was RM17,038.10 and the brethrens at the FGBMF also raised RM17,038.10, as promised. That brought to a conclusion of an event that has brought the FGBMF into good light throughout Kuala Kangsar.

Syabas ! Syabas! FGBMF as you have done well for Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour in Kuala Kangsar, Perak. Indeed the dead has united the living. Amen.
