Chapter Watch - PJ New Town Chapter
By John Hew (Field Representative)

The chapter was launched in PJ New Town in June 1988 with Bro Subash Chelliah as the first President and currently Bro. Michael Pang is the sixth president.

Reflecting back the old days, we must acknowledge the work of the Holy Spirit in guiding us. We were like nomads then looking for a suitable home to house the weekly meetings. Also few brothers willing to take leading role then till the strong call on Bro. John Hew (immediate past president) to put his hands on the plow to labour to revive the work with Paul M (another past President) assisting.

At that time, the owner of the place where we were holding the meeting was a non-Christian and later he had to relocate out of our vicinity. We therefore had to look for a new meeting place.

Finally, we found a place in a church but the number of members were declining. To increase the number, we went out to give flyers to invite people to come for our chapter meetings. Yet despite the labourious tracting, we could not get any new member. We prayed about it and felt that the church premise was not a suitable venue for hosting FGBMF meetings. Hence, we were led to look for another venue and God opened the door for us at the Kelab PJ.

As we shifted there, slowly after much prayers, the membership grew and later we had to shift to a bigger seminar room within the club house. We must pray as if it all depended on God and work as though it all depended on us. God gave us the increase and later led a member to sponsor lunch after the meeting so as to encourage members to stay back to fellowship and not to rush back. God's work done in God's way for God's glory will never lack God's supply.

Members became more committed in the Lord's work in reaching men for Jesus and calling them back to God. Within a short period, we were led to organise three banquets and what a joy to see souls saved through these meetings. Truly, if we are hungry for revival , we must be the fuel of God for fire doesn't fall on empty altars. There has to be a sacrifice on the altar for the fire to fall.

The increased membership and gave birth to KL Bukit Indah Chapter at Taman Bukit Indah, Off Jalan Klang Lama, KL in may 2004.

Praise the Lord, for our mouths will speak in praise of the Lord and let every creature praise His Holy Name for ever and ever and for all the wonderful things He has done.
