Services were held at
two churches in Kuala Lumpur - Full Gospel Assembly and Calvary
Church.
Dr
Tong's favourite songs include God Will Make A Way and How Great Thou
Art were sung by the attendees in tribute and honour to his memory.
At the wake held at
FGA, which was chaired by Bro Wong Hong Meng (the new National
Secretary), the FGB leadership took turns to read out portions of the
Holy Scripture as tributes to the late founding President.

Tong), Bro H H Fong (Central Regional Director), Bro Loh Poh Seng
(then Northern Regional Director), Bro Tan Tek Seng (National Director
- Evangelism), Bro Samuel Tan (Southern Regional Director) and Bro
James Kui (National Treasurer).
Many took turns to
share. Tan Sri Khoo Kay Peng, an old friend of Dr Tong (their
friendship went back 60 years during their student days in Segamat,
Johore and founder of the MUI group), described Dr. Tong as his
spiritual mentor.
Elder Ang Chui Lai of

not only transformed his (Elder Ang’s) spiritual life but also for
Dr Tong's match-making skill that helped him find a wife.
Bro Moses Soo said
Dr.Tong loved people, particularly the poor and had helped to
establish the Gospel To The Poor ministry. Dr. Tong was also a great
encourager and restorer of 'fallen and persecuted' lives.
Bro Khoo Oon Thiam
called Dr Tong his soul-mate and that the latter was truly a hero of
faith.
Dr. David Fung, Dr.
Tong's son-in-law and Sabah Regional Director, said his father-in-law
spent time in soul-winning and indeed that was time well spent.
Dr Leow, a medical
group practice partner of Dr Tong, thanked him for ‘introducing’
the baptism of the Holy Spirit and emphasising on maintaining an altar
to the Lord with daily devotion, which is a legacy that Dr Tong
initiated and the group cherished it.
At the funeral service
held at Calvary Church, Senior Pastor Dato Dr Prince Gunaratnam,
preached a charging message entitled What's Death, on First
Corinthian 15 and also quoting to live is Christ and to die is
gain (Phil 1:21).
