WE
THANK GOD for preserving the MUI Chapter for the past 18 years. Led by the
Holy Spirit and under the leadership of a few faithful and godly brothers,
Bro. Wiman Chew started the first lunch hour fellowship meeting on 13
July, 1987 at MUI Plaza (KL's central business district). Today we are
still having our meetings at the same venue.
Being located in the same building as the National Office,
the chapter naturally attracted many FGBMF leaders and prominent
international speakers passing by including Dr. Samuel Doctorian, Dr.
Larry Keefauver, Ps Steve Jones and many more.
The chapter meets every Friday from 1 - 2
pm with an average attendance of 50. Reuben P is the current President and
in the past, faithful brothers like Wiman Chew, Ravi Paul, Thomas Samuel,
Charles Koh and K C Low had served as Chapter President. Many FGBMF
leaders had also served here in various capacities and among them are Ang
Chui Lai, Wong Hong Meng, Freddie Wee and Steven Wong.
It
brings us great joy in this marketplace ministry to witness souls touched
and entered into the kingdom of God during the meetings. Many female
attendees told us that our chapter meeting was like a 'church service' to
them. Under persecution from their spouses, these sisters-in-Christ could
not attend the normal Sunday church service. It lifts our spirit that the
chapter is fulfilling the FGB mission in
providing an opportunity for Christian fellowship and to reach and call
men (women included) to God.
To bless and reach out to the working
people in our vicinity, the chapter organises a Christmas celebration
meeting on an annual basis. Many seeds have been planted and we pray for a
good harvest in the days ahead. We are also planning to start serving a
once-a-month light lunch meal after the chapter meeting. |
