Bro. Wong Hong Meng, the FGBMF
National Secretary, called on the young
people to rise up and serve the ministry in
more responsible capacities. He termed some
of them as the ‘emerging leaders’ and
stressed that they needn’t wait till they
shed their hair before they could fit into
leadership roles.

He called upon the current leadership to recognise,
encourage and mentor the younger people. He went on to tell
the members to be focussed in the respective roles that God
had assigned them to do. He quoted Rev Wong who had earlier
mentioned that members should carry out the Lord’s work in
an excellent manner. Bro Wong encouraged everyone by telling
them that people would judge the FGB work by their fruit. |

Induction of new members |
As an example, he cited the
World Pentecostal Revival in America that started in 1906 in
Azusa Street, and was now is in its 100th year. The Asian
Pentecostal Association, in conjunction with the centenary
celebrations, hosted a big conference and FGBMF was invited to
present a paper. The reason was because they recognised the role
played by FGB in the Pentecostal revival in Malaysia. Dr.
Stephen Goh, a member of the governing council, represented the
ministry. Praise the Lord!
Bro Wong Hong Meng, then encouraged
members to join the
NECF as an associate member. He drew the
members’ attention to the interviews conducted and published in
the Flame. They were people who are now serving fulltime in the
church but who were active in the FGB before. FGB has certainly
been a steppingstone to many. To God be the Glory!
He concluded
with the remarks that FGBMF, a marketplace ministry, was very
flexible in its modus operandi yet being in focus to its vision
and mission.
