From 1st to 3rd February 2007, the National Board members took time off from the hustle and bustle of the marketplace to spend some quality time with one an other and more importantly with the Lord. The retreat was held at the Lutheran Missions Bungalow, Cameron Highlands. The ministry can only be successful and effective when its leaders spend adequate time with the Lord in prayer. We are not fighting against flesh and blood.

The Holy Spirit must guide all decisions and actions. Once again the Lord had impressed upon the National Board members the need to return to holiness. They were led by the Spirit to pray for a cleansing of the leadership. If there are leaders in the ministry not living up to the standard of holiness as the Lord required of them, then the Lord would remove them from leadership. The ministry may end up leaner with fewer chapters but then it would be purer to the Lord’s call. Members of the National Board were not exempted. Indeed a higher standard of holiness was required of them. They too must be open to be dealt with by the Lord.

The FGBMF is a spiritual organization and its members can only impact the marketplace if their conduct and behaviour are beyond reproof. They should reflect correctly the image of Jesus as His witnesses and testimonies. Holiness, righteousness, integrity, honesty, clean and moral living with no duplicity should be the hallmark of all FGBMF leaders. We are expecting the Lord to convict all members unto repentance, cleansing and restoring them for His use. Hence, be prepared for we must be holy as He is holy.
