The National Men‘s Camp, held at Mesilau Nature Resort, Sabah from 5th July to 8th July on the theme “Arise, Shine!” (Isaiah 60:1) was a huge success and testimony to God’s glory and greatness.

A total of 105 delegates, mostly FGB members from various parts of Malaysia, attended the Camp which was held at the eco-friendly Mesilau Nature Resort, nestled amongst the trees at the foot of the mountain at about 2,000 metres above sea level. Some of the delegates came from as far off as Australia, Mongolia and the Philippines.

Delegates were treated to some solid Biblical teaching by two very anointed speakers – Dr Thomas Chung and Rev Chang Tze Hsiung. Dr Chung, a popular speaker on the Word of God for the past 20 years in Malaysia, expounded on topics like the finger of God, standing in the gap, as well as serving God with the faith and fervour of Bible characters the likes of Timothy and Epaphroditus. Rev Chang, a well known pastor and preacher from Taiwan taught and shared insights into the ministry gifts of healing and deliverance. It was a subtle blend of the power of the Word and the Spirit and many came forward to receive ministry for their hurts and infirmities.

Apart from the spiritually-uplifting teaching and ministry sessions, our thoughtful camp organizers also catered to the needs of the delegates for physical exercise and recreation by planning trekking trips, visits to the hot springs and villages nearby. Those less inclined to much physical exertion were content to simply enjoy and appreciate the wonder and beauty of God’s majestic creation while breathing in the cool, refreshing and invigorating mountain air. Sabah, as we all know, is blessed with beautiful and spectacular scenic views of mountains, valleys and streams. This retreat was indeed a welcome change from the hustle and bustle of city living where stressful deadlines was the order of the day.

We believe many lives have been touched and changed through the teaching, ministry, and testimonies shared. One of the delegates, Bro Elwin Mok, a policeman from Ipoh shared that the Lord touched him and has started healing him of his injuries sustained in a road accident in 2005. He is getting progressively better and although he still uses a walking aid, he believes that the Lord will eventually heal him completely.

Another delegate from the Philippines, Bro Edwin Omileg said that the Camp has opened his eyes to the power of the Word and ignited revival fires in him. He also said that no money can buy the benefits of attending the Camp where the Word of God is expounded.

Bro Edmund Chan, Regional Director (Northern Region) testified that the Lord has warmed his heart during the ministry sessions, strengthened his faith and deepened his desire to serve God more.

Gauging from the encouraging testimonies given and positive feedback received, we may conclude that the National Men‘s Camp has been a great blessing to camp participants. Delegates have been inspired to arise and shine for Jesus so that when they return to their respective marketplaces, they will be empowered to serve our Master with renewed vigour and a clearer vision. With the help of the Holy Spirit and the skilful use of the Word of God, they know they can be as bold as lions, preach the gospel, heal the sick and set the oppressed free. When this is done, surely the glory of the Lord is risen upon them!
