At the request of Dr Kim Tan, a founder
member of Transformational Business
Network (TBN) of the UK, the Central
Region organized this one day conference
at the Istana Hotel, Kuala Lumpur on 28
September 2007. More than 210 Christians
from a variety of churches were inspired
and stimulated to begin thinking of how
their business and professional skills
can be used to make a difference in this
world for our Lord Jesus Christ. In line
with the theme, “Use Your Business
Skills to Make A Difference Bringing
Spiritual & Physical Transformation to
the World’s Poor”, the conference
introduced us to the various projects
that TBN members have undertaken which
had impacted upon the local communities.
The panel of distinguished speakers
comes from England, Australia, India,
Nepal and Malaysia.

They spoke of the inspiration, the
challenges, the rewards and the
satisfaction of each of their project;
from small cottage industry type project
to multi million dollars large scale
investment. They were looking towards
further expansion not only for their
projects but more TBN Conference
Malaysia 2007 so for the Christian
community to expand their horizon, to
see the possibilities and potentials
that are inherent in all of us to impact
the world for the better. The poor are
helpless. Charity can help for a while
but not for long. Using the skills that
God has endowed us with, we can set up
viable and sustainable businesses that
can provide the hope, the dignity and
the love that the poor desperately
needs. This is really being the salt and
light that our Lord requires us to be.

The responses from the participants were
most favorable. Their eyes were opened,
their hearts stirred and their minds
started thinking of the various roles
they can play in the transformational
process. One of the participants
expressed his gratitude for the
conference in that it had given him
fresh motivation for an exciting second
half of his business life. He could see
greater success and satisfaction for his
second half than his first half, and it
is not just about making money.
If you missed the conference please get
a set of the DVD and share it with
others who also need to be inspired and
